How fast do you gain weight back if you go on a crash diet?

I haven’t been on one and I don’t plan too (i can’t eat like that little or just one thing a day >.<), but people always say, "You'll just gain it back after". And I was just wondering even if you eat healthy, will you gain it back?

BTW, what is the exact definition of crash diet? I heard it was extreme calorie restriction but things like eating the same food each and everday also a crash diet. Is that true?

You’ve got the definition down pretty well. You usally start off strong, losing lots of weight (calorie restriction), then after a few days you break because of the extreme pressure it puts you under. Hence the word CRASH. your plan and weight loss crash, and you gain it back. (plus some, most of the time).

How fast you gain it back depends on a lot of things. What type of metabolism you have, how active you are, how long you’ve been on the diet, your genetic make-up, and how healthy you eat on a normal day (not a crash-diet day).
